15 minute saison

I brewed a 15 minute table strength saysawn to grow yeast for a 10 gallon batch and, served with a slice of lemon, is just sublime. I always thought lemon slices in beer were stupid but in this case it works!

5 gallons, 15 minute boil
3# x light dme
3# wheat dme
.5# cane sugar
1 ounce styrian goldings 15 minutes
1 ounce strisselspalt 5 minutes
wlp 565 pitched @ 65, free rise to 78
OG 1.040
FG 1.002

No stalling out on that one!

The 10 gallon 1.065 batch finished at 1.005. No stalling on that one either!

Nice! That’s my favorite kind of saison - small and simple. Quite possibly the perfect summer brew.

I like the cut of your jibe! Short boil times rock! And I bet that beer is refreshing!

Sounds great!

It may be the most refreshing beer I’ve brewed. Or it may just be the long workday in the hot sun followed by yard work in the hot sun

I love the modern day stronger version of Saison, but a session-strength Saison is really what the style’s all about- refreshing, quenching, all day long goodness!

But that was yesterday! It’s 4th of July and I brewed a CAP just for this weekend!  Cheers and Happy Independence day!
