Quick question, is a 18 gauge stainless steel pot thick enough? I’ve been using a much thinner" cheap" boil pot and have been making good beer but want to up grade to a bigger pot and this 18 gauge has my eye.
18awg is about the norm for most brew pots.
18 ga. is what you will find in most quality brew kettles in the 8 to 15 gallon size. A few are thinner but I’ve not seen any thicker in that size range. I just bought a 10 gallon, 18 ga. pot and it looks very stout.
Thanks for the info, looks like I’m getting a new pot for thanksgiving.
