If you had to decide upon one commercial beer to savor whilst watching the incoming mushroom cloud, what would you choose?
For me . . it would have to be La Fin du Monde . . .

I have to salute your choice of a fine Canadian beer to celebrate the upcoming apocalypse. The fact that the name sync’s is good too but the beer is awesome. ;D
For me, as I watch the world come to an abrupt end, my choice is going to be Cameron’s Auburn Ale and a hell of a lot of it.
Pliny.
None. I’m running to the homebrew kegerator. Sorry…
PBR
Its what I started with…might as well end with it.
Same here. There’s a few commercial beers I like and occasionally buy, but I’d always reach for a homebrew as a preference (and as a better option by far).
And actually, I’ll continue to do so well beyond 2012.
While I do believe that civilization is circling the drain, I don’t think mankind is quite done screwing things up yet.
The whole “2012 apocalypse” hype is pretty goofy, really (though the History Channel is certainly making a mint off of it! :o ).
I’d want to go out with a bottle of my mead, a fat joint, and a beautiful woman in my arms.
Better than a beautiful joint and a fat woman in your arms…
I think I am going to go with Busch light. I like your style finish with what you started I will also be tapping the homebrew. I want o be passed out drunk befor it happens so I have a seamless transition. I also think I am going to hell but it’s not a big deal bc that’s where all the cool people are.
If I knew I could get it ( I live in Wisconsin ) I would have a DFH Olde School Barleywine. Otherwise, I would grab a homebrew.
I’m debating doing a chocolate chile stout as a winter seasonal next year and calling it “Mayan Meltdown”. So I suppose if the end comes and I happen to be at work I’ll reach for one of those.
I’ve got plenty of beer right here in my house on tap, so I’d probably just stay here and drown my fears.
But…Pliny or some DFH 90 work as well.
Any of the Ayinger beers. Or a really nice Chimay. Sigh. Hopefully I’ll have some rockin brew by then at least, so when the Ayinger runs out then it’d be homebrew. Sorry. That’s just too difficult question really. :o
no offense but beer will not work for end-of-the-world for me. We’ve got a couple bottles of very, very vintage grand cru burgundy. Saving them for a special occasion. That seems special occasion enough to me.
Oh, wait, no, I’ve got a bottle of Mikkeller X 2005 vintage I bought at auction, 7 years seems like a nice amount of aging time. So the mikkeller first, then the wine.
Just for the name, I would have to go with my all Calypso hopped APA, ApaCalypso Now.
If I had to choose a commercial beer, it would be Timothy Taylor Landlord, while sitting in a back-country pub somewhere in the Lake District.
I guess it would be BrewDogs “The End of History” for me. I think that would be a good time to savour a 54% beer. Now if I can only find one…
I’ll go with some fresh Sam Smith Imp Stout - haven’t had that in a while and it just seems right
the real end of the world is coming in early 2013. that way when everyone laughs their arses off in 2012 because the end didn’t come, they’re caught by surprise
I think I’d rather go with a good cigar and bourbon on the rocks.
Maybe some Avery Salvation
I’m thinking a 30 year old scotch or maybe some cognac. I drink beer all the time. If we’s all gonna die I’m drinking something special for the last night.
