For those of you who use the 30L Speidels and a chest freezer…can you share with me which freezer you are using? I’d like to get (2) of them in the 7-cu foot range, but doubt that’s going to work.
I think you will need to opt for the 9 range or build a collar. I have an 8.8 Sears/kenmore and it fits 2 better bottles ok on the floor.
What is the widest point on the speidels? I can measure the freezer.
Interested in this as well. I have the smallest chest freezer available, which is fine for a single carboy. My basement is cool enough to handle the remaining fermentation timeline with a heat wrap, the freezer just takes care of that crucial 1st week. At any rate, I’m curious of the Speidel measurements (with handles and spigot) to see if it would fit.
Width is about 15, but with handles lifted and your hands on them, more like 20. Heighth is about 25 with airlock in dry, but when its bubbling probably more like 28.
I have a 14cf Maytag. Lots of room for my 30Ls

The 60Ls have flat tops with a band that seals them
SO you need a 14cf to fit two 30L’s…thanks for the picture Jim!
Two might fit in something smaller but I know they fit in mine.
