I bought some 9 oz beer glasses. Now I can have 2 different beers on the same day without totally killing my diet.
Diet Schmiet. I’ve cut back on the fruits and veggies.
Bring on the 22 oz. Imperial Stouts!
I generally use my 2013 NHC tasting glass. ~6 ounces and I can have 2(or 4 or 6) in an evening. I’m a fan of just working out harder and continuing to drink beer but I’m nuts.
Exactly ! I work out quite a bit and if I’ve overindulged, I just ratchet up the workouts that week. If I don’t want a beer, great. But I’m not skipping one to count calories, for darn sure !
I hear ya. I got a fit bit for Christmas. That really clued me in to how little I move on a normal work day. Fit bit has encouraged me to get moving. That plus little steps like smaller glasses has led me to drop a few pounds without much real work.
No calories burned on Bowlfex? or calories from beer equals calories burned on Bowflex for net zero?
I hang all my tubing on my bow flex… lol pretty much the only workout it gets… Ran out of room around the bow flex so now that’s pretty much all it’s good for until I get a bigger space.
I think you simply need to brew more. Moving grain bags, water and full buckets, carboys and kegs is a good workout.
I have been able to get away with filling my glass halfway on the two occasions when I wanted to…
I moved my weight bench in front of the kegerator last year. ;D I still don’t use it except to hang hats and jackets on.
I knew someone would make that point. I wanted these taster size glasses instead the obvious just fill your glass with less beer solution.
I also want them to serve my friends. Sometimes my guests don’t like the homebrew. With a smaller glass they have less to drink out of politeness. I do fill there glass half way now but I have a friend who just serves tasters and I always liked that.
Yeah the whole diet thing is obviously just too big a target. So all joking aside I do commend you for taking steps to be healthy. It is hard, and needs encouragement.

I so do this. I think of a 6 mile run not as 900 calories burned, but three beers with change left over.
Starting Christmas I cut out fat, salt, sugar, and meat except 4oz lean a couple times a week. Still enjoying all the beer I want. -25 lbs so far
Wife put me on South Beach in October - lost 30 pounds with a “all the beer I want” diet - just have to monitor portion size of everything else!
Just like a lot of you I can stand to lose a few pounds but give up beer??..Not going to happen!! I have been using this site http://www.livestrong.com/myplate/ Basically you just track EVERYTHING you eat and your workouts and it calculates all of your calories for you. Working great so far…down 10 lbs over a month’s time and I can honestly say I haven’t given up beer at all.

I simply could not resist. Haha. I applaud the smaller glasses especially for unappreciative friends who don’t like your craft beer. Too good to waste.
Jim- Congrats on your progress!
And, I can honestly say that if I had a Bowflex (which I really wanted at one time), I would most certainly be using it to air-dry my various pieces of tubing…
