A Brewer's Prayer Meetin'

OK, I’ll open, if you guys join in, and somebody eventually close…

Dear Lord, thank You for the warmer weather of Spring, so that I can finally wash my Carboys outside, and pour them out on the Lawn…

amen

Sorry, I’ll give thanks when it’s actually warm.

Oh Great Brewer in the sky: thanks for the price in hops dropping since the shortage and keeping the price of malt stable. Thanks be to Him that keeps our equipment functioning and our mashes from sticking.

Dear Great Brewer. Please do something about my simple Barley Crusher. I’m about to smash it with a hammer.

Oh Blessed mother of fermentation, don’t fail me now!!!

;D ;D ;D

It’s 106* till Mash,
we got a full tank of propane,
1/2 oz of hops,
It’s dark and we’re wearing shades.

Hit it!

Thank you for making it possible for me to live where I can brew outside every day of the year!

I say thank you for that every morning when my feet hit the floor.

Heavenly Father we thank you for the fresh clean water flowing down through the Mississippi River to our water plant and through to our spigots with a minimum of sulfate and residual alkalinity (not to mention mercury and hexavalent chromium).  But could you please turn the spigot down so we don’t get yet another 500 year flood?

And Gordon, don’t pray for an early spring thaw 'cause thats when we’re going to really get swamped.

With a rain/snow forecast for today as I head out on a fishing trip, I think Beelzebub may have his hand in the kettle…

Lord, let it warm up so I fell motivated to brew in the garage.

Lennie - I am not in the Mississippi drainage, so it won’t flood you.  28F at 9 AM on April 1, no joke.

We’re on a mission from God.

Biting my tongue so I won’t get in trouble with the Mods for making a comment about global warming…

Hopefully 12 years of Catholic School was good for something…

Oh Great Granter of Grain and Healer of Hops,
Please grant a gentle and warm Spring in the northern regions
to fill out the stock and the grain with your maltable bounty.
Make the summer cool and balanced and free from pesky varments
like mites and molds in your hop growing regions.

May your starches, your humolones and Spirit of Yeasts be with us
for all of our days.

Mash in.

Amen!  (although I am now building an indoor brewery  ::slight_smile: )

Bah, you haven’t lived to you use the propane burner for both boiling your wort and warming your arse!    ;D

Thats OK then, I second your prayer.

Is 28F warm or cold for April 1 in your area?  Its in the low 30’s at night here, low 50’s as a high.  And that normal, although average in the Missouri springtime comes with a whopping standard deviation.

Orange Whip? Orange Whip? Three Orange Whips!

The low today was 24F, and the average low is 34F, last week the lows were in the 13F to 18F range.  March was much colder than average this year.  March of last year was much warmer than average.

Oh great beer gods… make it so!
