adding spices

I made a spiced Christmas ale but ended up aging it a little longer than planned and it seems to have lost most of the spice effect.

I was thinking about adding some more spices (cinnamon and cardoman) before bottling.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Soak them in vodka then dose to taste.  Err on the light side, just to be safe.  I would probably soak them separately so you can get the desired level of each, but you can do them together.

If you’ve kegged it, I would take some spice and toss it in a hop sock and “cask condition” it

If you can barely taste the spice, its perfect.
