Hi all, looking to step up a small batch to a 378 litre batch of 1.051 OG ale. Could any Clever Clogs out there be able to confirm if this AI advice is correct?.. Cheers! ![]()
A commercial brewing question? This isn’t really the place for that. I know a guy, but…
Personally I only brew about 6 or 7 liters at a time on average. Even a 30-liter batch guy might not be able to answer this question effectively. Maybe just trust AI if you don’t know any commercial guys.
Seems a little off. You don’t need 1.051 SG wort for this, as you won’t get that much growth and are wasting malt. This free calculator will let you adjust things and know exactly how much starter and how much yeast you will have in the end: Yeast Pitching Rate Calculator™ — Mr Malty
When I worked at a commercial brewery we purchased a large pitch pack of yeast. Expensive but that is what worked. At home, I use the Yeast Calculator. I am not sure how good it would work for you, but it is easy to manipulate different scenarios. http://yeastcalculator.com/
