That’s awesome! There is nothing more exciting than being able to go to your tap fridge and pull a pint of homebrew. Of course, what is even better is sharing it with friends!
The only part of brewing I don’t truly love is bottling. And since I’ve been doing 10 gallon batches for the past 11 years bottling would have doubly sucked.
Availability of parts and supplies. Sometimes the keg sizes are different (not the volume, but the dimensions). Pick one; it’s harder to maintain supplies of all the various stuff.
I’ve got some of each. The pin-locks tend to be shorter and fatter so you may not be able to fit as many in a space the same “floor plan” as ball locks.
I actually prefer pin locks because it’s impossible to mix up the fittings in a dark freezer, but I think the use of them is not as popular as ball locks so I sometimes have to provide my own fittings at club events. In other words, pin locks seem to be in the minority around here.
+1
I use flare fittings on all my hoses so I can change between ball and pin lock kegs. I think I have about 10 of each. I’ve never had trouble with the lids being interchangeable, and most pinlock lids don’t have relief valves which can be a PITA.
