HomebrewCon is Back, Baby!
With HomebrewCon coming up, it’s time to get the inside scoop about what to expect, as well as what else you should consider during your visit to Asheville and its environs.
It’s been a couple of years since Helene tore through our fair town, and a similar amount of time since our last gathering of the homebrewing clans, so now it’s time to celebrate the rebirth and rising phoenix of both HomebrewCon & Asheville!
Join me, along with local Ashevillians Jim Cope and Mary Spivey, as Paul West (AHA Community & Education Committee) moderates our discussion on what to expect at HomebrewCon, as well as must see breweries, restaurants, activities and sites in and around Asheville.
There is a lot to take in and see, and I encourage those of you traveling for HomebrewCon to give serious consideration to tack on several extra days before and/or after the conference to take advantage of the arts, brews, tastes and beauty that Asheville offers.
The monthly meeting of our local homebrewers club, Mountain Ale & Lager Taster (MALT) will be at will be at The River Arts District (RAD) Brewing Co., (1.5 miles from the conference center) on Wednesday before the conference, and all conference attendees are welcome to join us. We meet downstairs and it is good form to buy your first pint (and tip) upstairs, as you will need a glass to share some homebrew. Heck, bring some of your own. Meeting typically starts at 7:00, but for this group, we will call it 6:00. Also, there is excellent pizza across the street at All Souls pizza.
MALT made a collaboration brew with fellow MALT homebrew club member David Byer at his Diatribe Brewing Co. that will be served Friday at HomebrewCon. A dark rye lager with American hops – that’s hardcore homebrewing, baby! Thanks to David for the hops and letting us brew with him, Riverbend Malting for donating the grains, and White Labs for donating the yeast.
In addition, since this is a true, non-commercial collab, David will be offering up free pints the Sunday after the conference to those who show proof of event attendance at Homebrew Con, and MALT will supply bagels & cream cheese (all while supplies last) from 10:30 AM to noon.
So, register at HomeBrewCon 2026 to join us at 6pm EDT/4pm MT/3pm PDT on April 23rd as we discuss the tantalizing, the delicious and the fun things that are in store for you at HomebrewCon, in Asheville and the surrounding area.
