I probably spelled it wrong. But they sell the metal rods with wings to aerate wort. Has anyone used a similar product but that is designed to mix paint?
Would it be possible to use it
I use a mix-stir every batch, man. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. I use it until the foam is at the top of the bucket, then pitch. Works great even on big beers. I’ve pretty much stopped using O2 canisters - don’t feel I need it.
EDIT - I use this one: http://www.midwestsupplies.com/mix-stir-agitator-rod.html
I pour between two buckets about four times. Lots of foam. Place one inverted on top of the other until the foam has broken down enough that I can put the lid on. Has worked well for me.
I’ve done rock n splash, pour back n forth, mix stir paint gizmo on a drill, and finally went with red bottle O2 with a stainless stone. I won’t be going back to air-ation
I simply drain the cooled wort from the boil kettle splashing it into the fermenter thru a strainer creating a foam head, pitch yeast, and off to the races.
I’ve seen this before. Pretty nifty trick.
I have made two of those. Both broke in the middle of a transfer. So now I am back to the old way. Was thinking of getting a short copper tube and making one.
I am using Venturi tube with great success.
