Although, in my opinion, it falls short of funeral. I think this is their second best album. I love the David Bowie influence throughout the album. Like 1980’s labyrinth David Bowie.
I know this cd received some pretty negative reviews, but I think it is, again, a different approach to an album…like they seem to do for every album. The overall theme of the album is pretty sad, but many of the songs def make you want to get up and dance…more so then any other album. The beats are very catchy. Oh Eurydice and oh Orpheus are my favorite tracks on the album, easily.
I have to assume there are other indie lovers out there…
Give a man a hamburger, he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to hamburger, he’ll live forever.
Just finished listening to it, and I am also a fan. The song “Reflektor” was doing nothing for me when I’ve heard it on the radio over the last few weeks, but I really like it on the album. The song still goes on way too long, but it is much better. Audio quality improves it by a ton. In fact, that song was upsetting me when I heard it on the radio because it droned on for so long, and it sounded terrible. Much relief in hearing it on the album. Overall the album is really good. Also, am I the only person who loved The Suburbs? Such a great album!
I’ve only heard a few tracks, but I’m digging it. It’s always hard to “live up” to past works, but what’s the fun in doing the same thing over and over again? Hoping to get my hands on the vinyl soon!
I liked suburbs a lot, just not as much as funeral or reflektor. I think neon bible was my least favorite.
I really loved the here comes the night 22 min video when it came out. I thought the audio for here comes the night was much more raw, then what it was on the album.

To be honest, I really don’t know why I don’t like them. I should, as I have very eclectic musical tastes. I did see them about 7 years ago or so, my buddy was like “you have to see them”, didn’t do much for me. I guess maybe it doesn’t inspire me?
I’m not into new hip music either. I far prefer hank Sr to hank Jr. And if you don’t have a fiddle you better have a mandolin or a dobro to make up for it.
