Jumping into BeerSmith to get some recipes ready, I find that all of my personal beer log and
recipes are gone!! I do not remember going anywhere near the BeerSmith folder or deleting
any files related to beer. Anyone know what file extension would be my beer log for BeerSmith
and if there are related back-up files I could possibly go to?
When I got a new computer that had Vista, my promash files were stored in a “virtual store” location - not in the typical location in the “program files” folder. I see that Windows 7 does something along the same lines.
The problem is that the “virtual store” is in some backwood location on your machine. Might be worth a look into.
Good luck
I believe your beer log is just a folder in the recipes database, so you should search for recipe.bsm
Never had a file suddenly and unexpectedly disappear on my Mac. Ever. ;)
Same with my Linux computer.
You should be using paper and a filing cabinet. I’ve never had a piece of paper unexpectedly disappear. Evar :
FUNNY ;D
Yeah, the ironic thing is that I have been thinking about picking up a cheap PC so I can run Pro-Mash again.
Seriously though, I write all of my recipes and notes down in journals. Gives me something to flip through leisurely. Some of those old recipes can offer up quite a laugh! :
If you think yours is funny, maybe I should send you mine! :
I do not mean to push Linux on anybody.
If the main reason is to run ProMash on this computer you could buy Dell Mini 10v that runs Ubuntu.
Cost is $280.
ProMash runs very good in WINE.
I just bought this computer and it is very nice IMO.
virtualize it, bro
I have always printed the recipes but I didnt want to go back and re-enter everything…Oh well. At least I have the hard copies…
