I’ll be in Austin this weekend (Wednesday through Monday) visiting family. My daughter is currently studying at Southwestern University, and the rest of us are turning the visit into a bit of a road trip.
On a previous visit, we stopped by Jester King Brewery, and it was a great experience overall. We ended up chatting with the staff, and they even gave us a digital membership card via MembershipAnywhere for their Christmas party, which was a really nice, unexpected touch and left a good impression.
As far as beer goes, I usually lean more toward lagers, pilsners, wheat beers, stouts, and Belgian or seasonal styles. I don’t mind an IPA here and there, but I much prefer places where you can sample a variety of beers without everything being hop-forward.
I’d love to hear suggestions for another Austin-area brewery that locals would recommend, especially for someone who appreciates balance and variety over hop-heavy menus.
