A friend of my wife works for ND. Over the holidays she said it was a miracle season, and they could have easily been 8-4 or 7-5. Her prediction for the BCS game came true - “Were going to get killed.” Hope she enjoyed the weather.
“We’re such a legend we deserve our own TV deal…”
“We’re such a legend we don’t need to be in a conference…”
“We’re such a legend we still deserve conference tie-in perks…”
“We’re such a legend blah blah blah…”
I had the game on for background as I was doing other stuff last night. Part way through the 2nd, my Tivo wanted to change the channel to record a rerun of “The Big Bang Theory”…and I let it.
Legen…wait for it…DARY! I was confident and had originally predicted Bama 24 -17, but after watching Ole Miss just destroy Pitt (Pitt missed FG in OT against ND and Bama boot stomped Ole Siss) in their bowl game, I changed my prediction to 34 - 10.
Bama has 9 seniors and is one of the youngest teams in the nation. We’ll lose a few Jrs to the NFL, but we currently have what many feel is another #1 recruiting class coming in.
I almost never bet on sports but 2 of my employees pretty much insisted on betting against Bama so this morning I’m $30 richer. I predicted 28-7, but I really hoped it wouldn’t turn out as ugly as it did. Regardless I’m a die hard Bama fan so I watched it to the end.
This may seem strange, but I always like reading the hometown paper of a team that gets whacked like that, and I give South Bend credit for acknowledging that their team is still a couple of steps from the big leagues.
