My dad thought my gruit ale tasted brothy. But that’s a lot of Fungi in that one there. The best of the single AND multi-celled ones, I’m sure.
2 lb. of chanterelle mushrooms. It tastes wonderful!

How hoppy is it?
Calcs out to 27.5 IBU. It’s Skotrat’s Traquair House recipe made with Golden Promise. It’s one of the beers for our club’s booth at club night. The plan is to make the booth look like Kesey’s bus Further.
One swig of that beer oughta be just about right then. ;D

I love Chanterelles… I’ll be very curious to try this at NHC! I wont tell my girlfriend what’s in it until afterward… same trick she uses on her son.

I’ve never been brave enough to try it.

Expecting it to blow??? I noticed an awful lot of duck tape on the airlock, or are you just trying to make your very first airlock last as long as your blue cooler?

I got the idea from Randy, but it came in the first brewing book I ever got…his “Brewer’s Companion”

Starsan is slippery stuff. I didn’t want it to pop out. I even CO2 flushed the carbon…Gawd, I feel so dirty typing that word!

First time I saw Denny post this thing about mushrooms in beer I was - revolted is too strong of a word - mildly grosser out, then someone reminded me that yeast, too, is a fungus. Now I want to add the to my tripel recipe. I saw them in bulk last year at costco.
