Congrats to Jim and everyone working for or invested in Boston Brewing.
He did what everyone opening a small brewery dreams of. He made it a success and still makes a very good beer. If only we all could be so successful in careers.
What I find irritating is I seriously contemplated buying shares of the company around 2000 at $8 per share, but it was fluctuating so wildly on a daily basis I did not. It’s at $226. Where’s the facepalm emoticon when you need it.
yeah - I did a company valuation/financial modelling on SAM for my thesis, and found that it was valued (in 1999), based on my evaluation at about $43 per share, while it was currently trading at $7-$9. I remember many laughing at me.
what is amazing to me, though, is the fact that all the voting shares of the company are owned by Koch and the company has stated it will never pay a dividend, and yet it still trades at 47x earnings.
