I recently purchased some Benediktiner Festbier and fell in love with it. Searched all over and can’t seem to find a recipe for it. Wondering if anyone has good recipe for this wonderful beer. All I can find about it is what’s posted on their website. I believe it uses Ettal Lager yeast.
It’s hard to know the grains for certain (likely Best or Weyermann), but look up on this forum “Anderfest Festbier” and you will find an award winner in this style category. I tend to think of Festbier as threading the gap between a Helles and a Maibock (Hellesbock) - easy drinking like a Helles and yet a bit bigger than a Helles in terms of ABV, being a bit below the body and ABV of a Maibock (Hellesbock). Good luck.
Thank you for the help and explanation. Having a bit of a hard time finding those grains, but did find a comparable recipe with easy, at least for me, to find grains. Cliftyfest festbier. I might give that a try first.
