I would like to bottle some high gravity (braggot, mead, stout) in 6-8 ounce glass bottles, preferably brown or green glass. I would also like to cap with typical crown cap. I can find swing top brown and clear champagne bottles that can use a crown cap.
I use the clear 187 mL champagne “split” bottles for my meads, and that’s the perfect size for me. I’ve never seen them in other colors, and since they’re generally targeted at winemakers, I don’t know if I’d expect to find them in colored bottles. Good luck!
Thanks, since my braggot has hops, an opaque bottle is preferred to reduce light effects.

I’ve scoured the internet and have not yet found a good homebrew-scale supplier for small amber champagne bottles.
The best I’ve found are those 187ml clear bottles.
You could use butcher paper to wrap the bottles to keep out the light.
That’s a genius idea! Now my friends will think all my meads are brisket-flavored
Thanks, I was thinking of using aluminum foil, but some paper and rubber bands should be just as effective.
Rauchmead?
Store the bottles in the box they came in. And keep them where the sun won’t hit them.
Small gift bags could work as well. The size I used for another craft (3.5x2.4x7 In) would fit these bottles, with a little tissue.
I just located a case of 24 green 7-ounce bottles in the garage. I bought them well over ten years ago, and used them for high-gravity beers before I started kegging. So they do (or did) exist, though green isn’t as good as amber, so I’ve been told, so some kind of overwrap would help anyway. If you lived nearby I’d split them with you!
Wait two or three weeks and you’ll be able to get all kinds of wrapping paper on clearance.
That’s for sure
I have a beverage refrigerator that I age the braggot and the door is clear- i think the idea of using the little gift bags would also work nicely
