Boulder Flooding

I’m sure this must be quite a disruption for the Brewers Association during the preparation for the GABF. Best wishes to the folks in the affected area, stay safe!

Dang. That’s bad.

We are heading to Boulder/Fort Collins/Denver next week, looks like we have more time for Denver now.

Bummer.  A friend of mine was caught in the Big Thompson flood back in the 70s.  She got out OK. Never had anything like this when I lived there though (late 70s, early 80s).

Looks awful. Sad to hear people have died in the floods, although thankfully the numbers reported have been low. The first responders are doing a great job and making some amazing rescues.

I believe the rain is supposed to stop over the weekend. I am heading to Colorado next Friday so I hope the flooding has gone away by then, but not just for my sake.

A friend who grew up in Longmont says he was up in the Big Thompson canyon after the flood, and could not recognize it. That was said to be up around 32,000 cfs. That is as big as what they ‘flood’ the Grand Canyon with today.

Hope many of the BA people are doing OK, as they might be in some risk areas.

Edited the cfs number, could not find as big of a number as I remembered.

I just got an email from my brother who lives in Longment.  The pictures of what is going that he sent look awful.  His office is in Boulder and a foot bridge behind it that he says is normally 10’ over the creek.  Yesterday the water was almost over the top of it.

He and his family are okay but his household of 4 currently has 8 people, 2 dogs and 3 cats living it.  That’s 4 extra people, 1 extra dog and 3 extra cats.

Everyone out there is in our prayers.

Paul

Be safe all of my friends in Colorado!  My prayers are with you.

Left hand brewing is pretty much shut down. They have sacks of grain at the doors to keep the water out.

Wowee. Looks to get worse this weekend.  :-\

Best wishes to all affected.  Stay safe!

Sheesh, you guys have been getting hammered by Mother Nature the past couple years between the wildfires and this. Half my wife’s family lives in Co Springs - we’re thinking of all of you. Be safe!
