Brewer wanted

Oakshire brewing in Eugene OR is looking for a brewer.  If you’re crazy enough to want to brew for a living, you couldn’t do much better than working with these people.

I’m only about 5 things away from wanting to fight for this job. If it was a year from now so I could draw retirement, and someone offered me 2006 housing prices, and the company paid for endless chiropractic visits, and I was 20 years younger, and if I had any pro brewing experience…

damn, buddy, you’re almost there!

I know! Its pretty scary

You are so cool that even when you sit next to a fermenter reading a magazine ester production will be influenced in a positive way.

…he said to the mirror as he straightened his bow tie.

Hard to believe people make more flipping burgers or waiting tables than brewing…

But it is a glamorous job in the Craft beer industry.

$12 hour *2000 hours/year = $24,000/year. More supply than demand for Brewers.

My entry level job out of college in 1986 paid more than that.

It’s about the music, dudes.

Nice.  ;D

$12 and maybe benefits is about as good as it gets for an entry-level brewing job, and you get to work with Denny?!

Most would pay $12 an hour to brew with Denny

And many would pay $12/hr. not to!

But he counts it like a doctor where an hour is only 50 minutes.

Those were 1986 dollars!

My starting salary in 1974 was less than that. I felt I was rich. Again, 1974 dollars.

The problem with brewing salaries is that there are many more wanting the job than the demand.

Could be worse he could bill like a lawyer and charge 15 minute minimums.  6 phone calls in 15 minutes?  1.5 hours billable baby.  Kha-Ching!!
