I just noticed that Candi Syrup Inc. has a page of recipes for using their products. Some very nice looking Belgian beer recipes at Recipes - Candi Syrup, Inc. .
“Denny’s 400th - Belgian Quad
This Belgian Quad was provided to us by Denny Conn who graciously shared this exceptional recipe after using our D-180 Candi Syrup in his celebratory 400th brew. We have just brewed it and it appears to be an amazing and carefully considered recipe from one of the industries finest Brewmasters.”
what denny no brag warning? they already brewed your recipe? didn’t you just brew it yourself? they are quick!
I saw that when I ordered the syrup for my quad. There was a very long thread on another site about the Westy quad recipe that one of the Candi Syrup Inc founders participated in. But I did not see that last revision (added Special B). Allegedly, the fermentation temp/schedule is very important to get the right flavors. Almost appears they are trying to make the yeast struggle to finish and for it to do so slowly.
I just try to ignore that stuff…they can say what they like about me. Yeah, I told them I was gonna brew the quad (2 weeks ago) and they asked for the recipe and brewed it last week. Although the wort tasted and smelled great, they may be jumping to conclusions since it isn’t finished yet.
I love it! ;D I’m just wondering what industry they are referring to. Are you one of the sound engineering industry’s finest Brewmasters? THE finest, I’m sure ;D
Cool, thanks for posting the link. I’ve got a dark strong on deck for later this month, and have been searching for a good base recipe. Think I’ll give one of those a shot…
