That’s messed up. 
I had a couple hives, but that is big time. Sheesh we need those lil ole bees… we really do.
I am sure the keeper needed them as well. I wanna start a fund raiser to help him recover…

I am a hobby beekeeper. I think of my colonies as “my girls.” I am fully vested in their endeavors. The loss of just one colony is devastating for me. The loss of 2300 is incomprehensible.
That is seriously f’d up. This also affects the people he pollinates for. Why would someone do that?
The comments on the article (which are, for once, NOT full of vitriol and stupidity, once in a blue moon eh?) have a theory that it’s another beekeeper. I dunno about that.
That’s incredibly stupid. Without honeybees we’d eventually go extinct…

what kind of a nutjob does something like this? my first thought was that its personal and this guy really pissed someone off. atleast, no matter how stupid this is, a justification i can almost understand compared to “well maybe he just hates bees”. unreal.
