Brewed up fresh batch of New England clam chowda for the playoffs today. Now, what beer should i pair with it?
IPA, APA, Helles, Oktoberfest, dunkelweizen, Belgian blond, irish ale…hmmmm.
Why are you making fun of how I talk? I see you used plenty of butter and didn’t thicken it to a paste. Good Job! I would go with the Irish Ale
I vote Irish Ale.
Here’s a peek inside my twisted mind: when I think Chowda I think New England delicacy. And when I think New England I think Boston. And when I think Boston I think Irish. Therefore Chowda = Irish.
haha yeah had to throw in the ol’ new england accent. if chowda looks like gravy, its just wrong IMO!

Ha! Good “logic”. I just think that the hoppier beers wouldn’t work. I would only pair thm with more intense flavors. As a matter of fact I don’t usually pair IPAs with food so I can use my tastebuds.

Leaning towards Irish ale also. And yep, made with fresh whole clams boys!
Good looking chowda ! I think any but the dunkelweizen or Belgian would pair up nicely. But then, I could be wrong.

Can’t wait. Filthy $6 burritos the size of a baby’s leg that burn coming out as much as they did going in washed down with a dos Equis. It’s going to be good.

This reminded me I have some clams in the freezer. Its going to be white clam sauce over homemade linguine wit fresh baked bread to sop up the sauce at our house.
