competition entry for schwarzbier

My schwarzbier has 1/2# of amber malt which I realize isn’t in style. Can I get away with it?

If it tastes like schwartzbier, recipe doesn’t matter. If its close, it would depend on the judges, the competition, and what else its up against. It could still be better than more ‘to-style’ entries.

Okay thanks. I thought that might be the case. I have only entered a couple of comps so wasn’t sure if they put any merit into recipe accuracy for style regardless of taste.

nope, we don’t even see the recipe. we just drink the beer.
