could I call it a Dunkelweizen?

5.5gal batch

5lb 2 row
6.75 german wheat
1 german munich
.75 chocolate malt

.75oz Tettnang (@60)

WLP300

Yes.

No need to color between the lines. It’s your beer — call it what you like.

Looks like it could pass as a dunkel to me!

Dunkel Weizen and Dunkel are 2 different animals (I’m sure you know this but everytime I brew a dunkel at the brewery the staff calls it a dunkel weizen and it drives me crazy).

And yes you can certainly cal it a dunkel weizen.

I like a little more Munich in mine, but that certainly looks like a Dunkelweizen to me.

You’re absolutely correct, majorvices.  Dunkel is German for “Dark” and Weizen is German for “Wheat” and it looks like the proposed grain bill will provide both.  I think I simply got lazy with my response.  But thank you for pointing that out!  :D. On the subject, I will be brewing a Dunkel on Monday - no wheat in the grain bill.

Dunkel and Dunkel Weizen are two of my favorite styles.
