not a political statement, just saying, Barbra Bachman on the cover of newsweekl looks insane. She has that crazy eye stair like shes looking into infinity!
The publishers of Newsweek used that picture of her so that you would have exactly that reaction. Nice huh?
It looks like a dog treat is being dangled in front of her… definitely not framed to give her the best look possible…
They made a big deal about exactly this on the Day Show with John Stewart the other day.
Yeah, politics aside, what a jerk thing to do. And totally elementary school stuff, too. Don’t like someone? Nyah nyah you look weird! This is what happens, though, when you cede editorial control from the debate-and-chess-team guys to the cheerleading squad. See also: Huffington Post. Also OP I think you mean Michelle Bachman. Also, obligatory IBTL.
Newsweek is dying a slow death, from what I can tell, so they’re doing anything they can to get attention. Witness the cover from awhile back that had a photoshopped princess Di walking with Kate Middleton. They are getting attention, but I doubt they’re selling more magazines.
I though the thread was going to be about this guy:
That is almost the same picture!
And yes I, meant Michelle Bachman oops
Have you got somebody inside at Newsweek that told you that?
To be fair, they needed a picture that went with the caption “The Queen of Rage”. Maybe she shouldn’t be so angry that judges are telling children to try homosexuality.
I thought the same thing about that picture when I first saw it. It seems strange but the more pictures of her I see (I’m in Iowa so lots of political press right now with the Ames Straw Poll this weekend) that seems to be one of her standard looks. I not attacking her personally, all the candidates scare me right now.
Paul
agreed that the picture really over does it, but she always has a little bit of that look whenever I see her.
The caption under the picture leaves no doubt as to the publisher’s intent.
Perhaps, seeing such a large decline in their circulation numbers, they have decided to transition from hard news to satire, to compete with the likes of National Lampoon and Mad Magazine. If so, they should say so, and change the name of their magazine to Newsweak.

Well if that’s the case I’d say that there new cover girl is easily as funny as Alfred E. Newman!

It seems to me like you’re projecting your own biases rather then accepting it for what it is.
i would actually like a better look at her legs ;D
And with that…
say goodnight goodnight gracie…
