Draft Brewer gas line assembly

I have a Draft Brewer system from Northern Brewer. The instructions are far from clear on the assembly of the lines and I have conflicting answers from the store. I have been struggling with kegging from the start so before I assemble my second line for “The Governor” regulator I want to ask around to make sure I do it right.

Here is what I’m working with: Home Brew Keg System w/ Two Cornelius (Corny) Ball Lock Kegs & Pressur

The gas side comes with the lines crimped to the threaded connectors. There is a ball lock connector and two conical white plastic washers. The gray ball lock has a gray plastic tapered piece at the end of the threads. My question is: What do I do with the two white plastic conical washers?

The nylon washers go where you have a metal to metal flare connection. Most likely the regulator valve. They are not needed for connecting to most flare keg connectors as they have a plastic part built in.

Thank you.

I’ll double check with a spray bottle.

Could a leak on the gas side be causing funkiness in serving?

My most recent brew started out tasting fine but after a couple days the taste went bitter.

Not that I know of. Flat beer for sure tastes different from carbonated beer.

With that in mind I would presume over carbonated beer tastes different than properly carbonated beer?

To me over carbed beer tastes sharp and acidic. Think about spring water or dressing with too much vinegar.

That’s what I’m experiencing. I’ll look up how to rectify the over carbonation.
