We sold our house and bought a condo. With that, I’m upgrading to electric. The build begins tonight. Obviously I’ll need a lot more than what’s pictured here, but its a good $150 start! The Weaze will be back soon!
Nice.
Update… Have several of my controls now. I’ve been getting it layed out so I can begin drawer up a schematic. So far what I have together is working.
I’ve got a 110v to 24v step down t-former out to a relay. (i have a temporary relay on it for the time, just in case things went south. Today I will swap it out with my two pole good two pole. I have the NO wet switch wired between the wifi stat and relay that will activate the element once the water is above the element. I do not have the flow meter that will go between the stat and relay yet.
Today, I will wire the second relay up the same way for the boil kettle.
I did have one mishap when wiring the NC wet switch. It was getting late and i my infinite wisdom, I wired it to the R terminal on the stat instead of the G. Soon as I put power to it, I let the smoke out. Oh well. a small sacrifice.
Don’t let the magic smoke out! All electronics run on magic smoke!
To late for that.
Curious as to what brand/model of “wet switch”?
Tom
This guy right here. It’s actually made for large rooftop heating and cooling package units.
Got some fancy blinky lights today. Don’t Minh the mess of holes in the cover. Still have to put a second PID in. As for the other holes, it will all be covered in diamond payee when I’m done, so I’m not worried about not having the placement right the first time. If I don’t like, I just move it knowing it is going to be covered.
What case did you get for your build and where did you get it at, looking to pick one up soon.
I got it at a local wholesale house. I like to support the small wholesale stores when I can as opposed to the big box stores. But you can get the same one at Home Depot for the same price. It’s a 20x20 outdoor junction box.
