With a small list of parts, some light soldering, and a little elbow grease you could build your own device that can tell you your gravity in near realtime. I built one. Building it was not an issue. Configuring it to work with the Mac operating system was really hard for me. I had it working once had to redo it. I just gave up.
Was the issue flashing it? Or just getting the data?
Flashing the wemos was the issue. All of the methods are geared to Windows. I spent 5 hours or more trying to flash and succeeded after some remote help from a really nice guy in Texas. When I had to flash it again I could bear going through that process again. It’s too bad. In many ways it seemed better than the Tilt.
I am currently running Linux and I personally have not built one. That being said it should be hard I think just getting the right tool to flash it should be all.
