Fat Head's Hop JuJu

Fat Heads does hoppy beers just about as well as anybody in the Midwest. This seasonal imperial IPA never disappoints!

fore sure…love them.

There, fixed your quote! [emoji6]

Good point. Their stouts leave more to be desired, but IPAs and APAs are killer!

It is very good! Great aroma and flavor to match.

I’m headed to Fat Heads Portland tonight, so I’ll put this on my list to try.  The other night I had the Fat Heads Semper FIPA and I didn’t like it at all.  The Equinox hops were very oniony/garlicy to me.  My wife liked it, but I didn’t.

Kinda liked their Shakedown Stout.

I keep trying to get JuJu but they never send it down here.

Shakedown is their best stout. Oompa Loompa is pretty bad. As good as Shakedown is, their hoppy beers are that much better. Hop JuJu is great, but I don’t know if it really beats Head Hunter, their staple IPA. Which, i assume if you’ve had any Fat Heads in Florida, you’ve had it. Trail Head APA and Midnight Moonlight Black IPA are also both killer.

Good to know - I do love Head Hunter - one of my top IPAs.  We only get HH, Jack Straw Pils, Sunshine Daydream, and some blueberry something or other.  Occasionally, some random things, such as Shakedown.

Bumbleberry… Chicks dig the bumbleberry.

I’m pretty sure Midnight Moonlight is usually a limited seasonal. They might only distribute kegs, because I’ve only seen it in kegs.

Hop Stalker is their fresh hopped IPA released in the late fall. It’s also really good.

You calling me a chick frank!

;D

Well… If the shoe fits  :stuck_out_tongue:

Bumbleberry… Chicks… and Ken dig the Bumbleberry!  ;D

Thank you…yes I like bumble berry and I wear a size 12 stiletto.

Full disclosure - I make fruit beers for my wife and occasionally enjoy a pint. She and her friends drain 98% of them, but I’ll have a pint here and there. Secret - WY3522 works really nicely in a fruit beer, to give some nice Belgian character to the fruit. So far my man card hasn’t been revoked. You never know though, I may be on thin ice .  ;D

It’s actually not bad. Just not my cup of tea. A little too sweet for me. About 6-8 oz is enough for me.

I was disappointed in the Oompa Loompa when I had it at Festival of the Dark Arts, although while I was there the other night they had a Bourbon Barrel Aged version of Oompa Loompa with cherries that was amazing! I had their Pimp my Sleigh Belgian Dark which was nice.  They didn’t have JuJu on tap in the Portland Brewery.

Had hop juju for first time tonight. I hate this beer. Cat piss hops and way too sweet.

Interesting. I find it to be one of the most drinkable imperial IPAs out there being that it’s big but still plenty dry to drink. The hops present are chinook, simcoe, centennial, cascade, and Citra. I don’t get cat piss in any beer lol. It’s one of my favorite commercial IPAs. I have 10 in the fridge and probably need to get another 4 pack.

It always amazes me how we all taste things differently.

yeah so here is my definition of catpiss…pine pine pine.  its just too sweet for my liking also.
