If anyone has filtered their beer through wheat straw I’d like to hear about the process you used and the result.
Belgian brewers used to add straw to the mash for the same reason rice hulls are added to mashed today. But to filter a finished beer through wheat straw seems to me to be a source of bacteria. I found this article and never realized straw was ever used in brewing. Thanks for teaching me something new.

Thank you for the reply. I got interested as I read Historical Brewing Techniques, and then I saw several places online where they were discussing it. I don’t think that I am going to risk a batch of beer on it, but I am going to give it a go at some level.
