Frosted Glassware isn't Cool!

We just posted a poll on CraftBeer.com (also published by the Brewers Association). I was hoping to get some home brewers to weigh in on this topic:

If you’re served a beer in a frosted glass, what do you do?

Poll is at the bottom of the following web page.

Cheers to all.

Good article, I hope it is widely read by bar owners, not just brewers.

Yeah, I don’t get frosted glass ware. If the mountains turn blue that’s good enough for me.

;D

loooooool

If some serves me beer in a frosted glass, I assume its someone who does not know better than to not use a frosted glass, and therefore, would not know a good beer I held their head under it until the bubbles stopped, henceforth, they would be serving me swill that would need to drank from a frosted glass. So, at the end of the day, I’m good with the frosted glass.  ;D

I only chill my martini glasses. Two in the freezer at all times. That’s my limit BTW or things get unpredictable.

Beer glasses are stacked on top of the kegerator. Room temp.

I thought all bars used plastic cups. ???

but they have to be the red ones

I’ve seen them in blue, and I’ve seen them in yellow…

Around here they’re clear and biodegradable.

Red Solo cups for me, please. They attract good looking women.

Beer was only served in mason jars where I grew up.  Oh and big mugs shaped like cowboy boots.

This!!  But only after 7,8,9… beers.  ;D

if someone serves me beer in a frosted glass

i drink it.

I only drink my beer and free beer. My beer is served properly, and if it’s free, take it and worry about hidden costs later.

Myself as well.  But I honestly can’t recall the last time someone served me a frosted glass.

It probably had Old Style in it, so the super cold and the ice chips did not detract from the experience.

No disrespect to Old Style.  It’s one of my sentimental favorites.

When I was a kid, Coors wasn’t available here in Ohio.  My uncle was in college at Oklahoma U. at that time, and it was a big deal for him to bring a case or two of Coors back home to my dad who treated it like it was the nectar of the gods.  He’d ration it to last months until my uncle was coming home again.  Dad had glass mugs with the Coors logo on the side and always kept them frosted in the freezer so he could have an ice-cold Coors.  He would only drink Coors from them, and wouldn’t think of “defiling” them with some other beer.

Later, when Coors became available here, he changed his tune and became a loyal Michelob drinker.  And, when offered a Coors at a ball game, he’d tell the vendor to come back when they had some “real beer.”

Dad died several years ago, and I ended up with the Coors mugs.  I keep one in my freezer, but I never use it.
