Brülosophy contributor, Ray Found, was recently offered a private tour of Gambrinus Malting Co., the maltster responsible for making one of my personal favorite character malts, Honey Malt. He took a bunch of photos and wrote about Gambrinus’ process, check it out!
Interesting and well done!
Thanks a lot, a real cool look at how what we use is made, could wind up on TV’s “How its Made”
Neat.
Love articles like this, really makes you consider how many other people play a role in the beer you’re making. I like thinking of it as a collective process, always cool to see what goes into the work behind the beers.
A good write up.
Very nice work, Marshall! Dig it! I would love to see something like this for Best Malz, also.
Good information on a process we too often take for granted. As a seed guy of 35 years, I can really appreciate their materials handling equipment and am flat envious of the pallet stacker.
I’d also like to try a Thirsty Beaver or two.

Anyone care to fly me out to Germany?
I’d love that too!
That pallet stacker… so rad.
