Gas tank temperature tolerances (heat)

I’ve been digging for credible information on storage temperatures and solutions for beer gas in tanks and all I have found so far are articles and such discussing the effects on psi of increasing ambient air temperature on gas tanks and that a CO2 tank will automatically discharge at 115ºF. What I’m curious about can a solution to keep gas temp closer to 72-74ºF be as simple as placing the tanks in insulated coolers (think igloo) filled with ice for days with temps over 85ºF if refrigeration is not an option? Anyone have advice or experience with solving for this? Much appreciated.

Anecdotally, I can tell you that I’ve never worked in a brewery that cooled gases, and that brewery temperatures are rarely below 85°F.

Greetings - my suggestion is to determine exactly what temperature your bottled gas will be stored at.  Then contact your local gas supplier, AirGas for example, and ask them if whatever gas you need can be stored at the particular temperature you determined.

You may not need any special refrigeration equipment at all.  And, if you learn your gas cannot be stored at whatever temperature you determined, then you need to rethink your plan and store your gas bottles in a different location.
