Going to Hawaii

Seems my rich siblings are doing a anniversary party for our parents in Hawaii, so I guess I will be there in January what should I plan on seeing, is island hopping worth it and what beers should I not miss while I’m there.

Nice! Me too, I’m going in the end of March. Gonna be on Oahu.  Punatic, you out there? Wanna meet up for a brew? I hear Kona and Maui Brewing are good to see…

Would be great to meet up with punatic maybe he has some work for me out there or we could just try out the beers and have a great time. How about it punatic?

I’m partial to the Big Island (Hawaii).  Kona brewing is a must.  Hilo is a great town on the other side of the island.  You have to see the volcano.  Oahu was a little touristy for me, but you have to go to Pearl Harbor.

Depends which Island(s) you are going to be on.  January is a great time for whale watching and surfing (or watching people surf).  I grew up on Oahu and spend a lot of time on Maui, so I could give you detailed descriptions of these islands (what to do, where to eat, etc…).  It’s been about 6 years since I’ve been to Kauai and the Big Island, so there may be someone here that could give you better up-to-date descriptions of those islands.

As for island hopping, I’ve really never done it but know friends/ family that have and they all wish that they could have stayed on each island longer.

You did say you were buying a ticket for good ole’ Weaze, right?  ;D

::)  **  PUNATIC!**

I am on the windward side (Hilo side) of Hawaii Island (the Big Island).  I know my way around the other islands pretty well too.  Might be on Oahu for a few days at New Years.  PM me for contact info.  Lots of great stuff to do and see here on the Big Island.  The coolist place on Earth, IMHO.

My wife and I love Hilo.  We liked the margaritas at Ruebens, too.  Hope it’s still open.

I am to understand there are no mosquitoes? If so a move may be in order. ;D

I am sure that someone with experience in radiology would have no problem finding work here.

Yes we have mosquitoes here.  They found their way over in the biilge water of a sailing ship back in the 1800s.

Ruben’s is still here too.  Right next to the farmers’ market on the bayfront.

We went to Maui and the Big Island for our honeymoon and spent a week on both and wished we had more time on each.  I haven’t traveled a lot(Europe & Central America), but out of all the places I’ve been, the big Island was the coolest.

Live pictures of the summit caldera lava lake of Kilauea.  They update around every 10 minutes. Time stamps at top left corners.  Hawaiian Standard Time (HST) is UTC -10.  (Cowboy Stadium would fit down in that hole)
