I have an option to get a good buy on a couple of party pigs. Well I have seen that people have created a new front plate to be able to dispense with co2 instead of the pouches.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could put together a ball or pin lock gas port for this so I can use a 12 g co2 cylinder
If you’re going to use the small cartridges, why not just put a Schrader valve on it? A full-on keg post seems like overkill for this.
I hope you plan to use a regulated CO2 cartridge charger… Overpressure that plastic and it will blow. Those carts can push out hundreds of PSI rapidly.
I’ve never seen a regulator for the small cartridges.
I agree with using a shrader valve. You can get brass ones from NAPA auto parts that bolt on from the inside.
I’ve used a similar set up with mini-kegs and the pressure can pop the bottom of the metal keg out into a point. Not sure what would happen with a pig.

As mentioned above, those chargers are unregulated. Be careful using them. If you go with the shrader valve, you can buy a less expensive version of the identical housing designed for bikes.
I would be surprised if you could fit a ball lock connector and a dispensing port in a conversion. The space on the front of the pig isn’t that big once you account for the metal ring that locks the front piece to the bottle. If you do install a quick connect fitting then you definitely need a check valve on the line because beer is going to be in contact with the gas in port until you drink down the pig.
If you opt for a bike charger then be aware that the chargers are designed to unload all the CO2 at once (to fill a bike) and it does not seal as well against the cartridge as say an air gun so the cartridge has a short shelf life. That won’t be a problem if you plan on drinking through a pig in a few days (or less) but if you think you’ll go through it in a longer period of time then make sure you have spare cartridges available as you’ll probably find the cartridge in the charger empty before the pig.
I’d really think about the value of modifying the party pigs like this. You can pick up old 2.5-3 gallon cornies for around $40 (sometimes less) without having to do any modifications or deal with CO2 chargers. I’m not anti-party pig. I have two of them and use them like casks (prime with sugar and dispense by letting air back into the vessel). I’ve sometimes thought about doing one of these conversions but I haven’t been motivated enough to do it.
There is always a way if you want to spend the money. My 2 cents is just by the pouches. they are around $4.50 a piece. By the time you get the stainless steel or suitable plastic then cut those to the right size, drill them, instill fittings so you can then make and attach a drop tube to sit at the bottom of the bottle, get a fitting for the outside so you can then attach a purchased nozzle for dispensing beer then buy fittings to attached a cheap regulator setup for the CO2 you could buy over 20 pouches for that for way less hassle.
