Just thought I would pass on a warning. Growlerwerks is selling a new pressurize growler and to cut to the chase they are having large quality issues along with customer service issues with their kickstarter campaign. They are selling through amazon without providing the product they owe their kickstarter backers. . Just thought I would put this out there in case anyone has seen the product. Issues seen is the cap doesn’t hold pressure and assembly quality issues. Just a heads up if you see the product
No connection with Growlerwerks here, except that I am (patiently) awaiting a 128 oz. growler. Original delivery expectations were missed, no doubt. They’ve kept us informed, and I’m OK with it because that’s what Kickstarters are about.
“Large quality issues” doesn’t cut to any chase, it just harps on some negative Amazon reviews. Is that all you have to offer, and is that why you posted this here? An actual user review would be much more useful. Anyone who finds this device on Amazon can read the reviews. Their last email update explained why they supplied Amazon, with unfulfilled Kickstarter backers still unfulfilled.
I’m looking forward to getting mine in the spring.
If that poster is still waiting for the product to arrive from backing the kickstarter campaign then how would he or she possibly be able to provide a user review?

Those are some pretty terrible reviews.
A lot of reviews complain about lack of pressure. That seems to be true of most of these growler systems that rely on small CO2 canisters.
Why lead with no association with growlerwerks is odd but ok. I am a verified amazon purchaser. I am the one who has the YouTube video of the $130 growler that has mars, off center tap, the cap doesn’t really screw in properly and even with great care taken it doesn’t hold pressure. Not to mention how the goose neck is assembled doesn’t match the selling photo. But i just thought I would share so other people don’t get sucked in. I have a replacement coming that is arriving today. Hope that’d more useful
I hope for better quality out of the replacement but i am not holding my breath since so many other people are having issues and complaints. If it’s better that’s great but I will not be able to recommend a product that the people making it say the shape that my growler came in should just be chalked up to “uniqueness”. They admitted they knew the issues existed and sent it out anyway not caring about the end user.
Yes, it’s definitely more useful to know that you are a purchaser rather than someone just bashing the product with only second-hand knowledge. I appreciate the clarification.
I understood the risks of pre-purchasing a new, yet-to-be-built product. I’m hoping the production version of the 128 growler turns out well.

I wanted to let everyone know that I got my order and finally had a chance to put it together. The pressure in the outside tube leaked and I emailed them about the problem three days ago ant this is the response that I got:

More recent Amazon reviews have been mostly positive, but still some issues.
Anyone get one of these recently? I like the idea, could be super useful. Just has to work well for a reasonable amount of time, given the cost.
Of the handful of people I came across who ended up buying one, most of them gave them up around the time growlers stopped being a big thing (2016 or 2017 I guess) and those who didn’t don’t seem to use them very much. After the initial couple runs it seems like the product improved because I didn’t see these complaints about quality. More the lack of need or the hassle of buying CO2 canisters.
If you really want one I would suspect you could pick one up on ebay or craigslist for a fraction of new.
Personally I would take a look at some of the growler taps on the market that attach to a growler of your choosing. I know there are some that connect to the sanke-looking steel growlers as well as some that screw on to bottle-shaped growlers. You could probably pick up one of these taps plus some applicable growlers on craigslist for less money and less risk than the growlerwerks product.
I have a tap that attaches to a standard growler. I don’t know which brand. You have to drink the beer fast. It goes stale fast- 24 hours. Mine doesn’t have a regulator. So, I was always over charging it with CO2 which made the pour terrible: all foam.
I never use it.
My wife has hinted she is probably getting me one for Christmas. I’ll try to remember to report back later as I plan on using it a lot.
I received 128 oz Growlerwerks (Blue) 2 weeks ago from Amazon. I installed CO2 cartridge and have filled it twice with Great Lakes Christmas Ale from DrugMarts tap. No issues to report. It is easy to control the amount of CO2 using the control knob.
A friend of mine has a 128 oz one. She really like it. She’s had it for a couple of years. Makes it nice for her to grab some beer from my place since I mostly keg and she mostly bottles.
I did get a 128 oz from Santa Claus. I haven’t opened it quite yet but in a couple more days I’ll have a batch ready to put in! Now I just need to find/create a permanent spot for it in the refrigerator…
I was going to post a new question about this product (specifically, https://www.amazon.com/GrowlerWerks-uKeg-Carbonated-Dispenser-Cocktails/dp/B08LF1T7DX/). How did things go? The regular glass growlers I’ve gotten from the local pub are usually flat in a day or so and flavor is quite degraded. Maybe the added cO2 charge helps with that?
I have one of the goose neck versions. Looks good, but tends to crack at the bend. The newer straight version looks like a much better design.
These will keep the beer carbonated for at least a week, likely much longer. I’ve never been able to test that. :
Plus it looks good on the shelf in my brew room.
I just got one as a present on my 10 year work anniversary. I’m going to try and make sparkling wine with it.
