While I was checking on the small size packets of CS Baja lager yeasts, I saw another dry yeast that I’d never seen before: CellarScience HAZY.
Just eyeballing the specs, it doesn’t seem an obvious repack of either NEIPA or Verdant by Lallemand. (I have been quite pleased with Verdant; never tried LalBrew’s NewEngland.)
I have used Lallemand Verdant quite a few times in non-Hazys. I’ve used it in a bitter, a porter, and a couple of Amber Ales. It’s good yeast and makes very clear beer. I think I would use it in any beer where I might otherwise use Bry-97. It makes a dry beer beer that accentuates hops. The bitter was dryer and cleaner than I expected. But still delicious.
My point, this Hazy yeast might be good for more than a hazy.
