I been asked to brew a beer for a annual NY day party. Just one beer and personal taste cover a large range of beers. So I guess I am looking for a “neutral beer” for lack of better names. In other words, not a hoppy IPA and not a Robust Porter.
Any ideas?
Thx
I would go with a British mild or pale ale.

My favorite beer for the holiday season is Bohemian pilsner. Rich malty golden lager with boatloads of Saaz hops. What more could you want?

My first thought was helles bock. No one won’t drink it and it’s kind of seasonally appropriate.

I know you said you are looking for a neutral beer, but New Years Day just screams Holiday Ale to me! Malty, yet dry with a bit of sweetness balanced by even bitterness and mild spicing.

Interesting. I have only gone to New Year’s Eve parties. Didn’t know New Year’s day parties was a thing…
I would brew something lighter in color but bump up the ABV to ‘holiday’ levels. Blonde, Pilsner, Wheat, Kolsch, etc.

Agreed. I am way too hungover on New Years Day to party again!

LOL. I would say this party every year is just an extension from night before, hard core. 8)

Pilsner malt, lager yeast, ~16°P, ~30 IBU noble-type hops. You could add some Munich and/or light continental crystal malt if you wanted to get fancy.
