hemacytometer recommendation?

Finally pulled the trigger and ordered a good microscope. Time to focus on yeast, yeast health and pitching.

I have heard some complaints about cheaper hemacytometers… any recommendations? Would prefer to keep under $100.

Check eBay. You want an “Improved Neubauer” chamber, and it should be glass with etched/silvered markings so that you don’t have to worry about cleaning with solvents. IIRC, you need to spend about $30 to get to that level, but you don’t gain anything by spending more. Don’t forget cover slips.

cool.

Thanks!

This is the one I got:

I got one from Ebay for about $40… said it had silvered lines, but it doesn’t. Waiting to hear back from the seller. The lines are visible, but barely - have to play a lot with the contrast.

Now I just need to get my procedures down and become more consistent.

If you don’t get used to it, try a bright line hemacytometer: SAWER138 ☯ Slot Gacor Hari Ini Gampang Jackpot Ratusan Juta
