Homebrew shops between Duluth and Flint Michigan.

Are there any?  I need base malt and that’s where I’m driving tomorrow.

try searching the AHA homebrew supply store list. looks like there may be a couple on the way. Frankenmuth maybe? looks like your best chance is in the lower part of Michigan. doubt there is any in the UP and Duluth doesn’t have one.

Yep, looks like you might find something in Midland, Bay City, Saginaw…

The Lager Mill in Frankenmuth has bags of Crisp MO and Best Pilsner IIRC. Don’t know about price or other base malts. They have a good selection of German beers, which fits right in with the Frankenmuth theme.

Edit - that’s a long drive. The scenery in the UP is good. Been up there 3 times this year.

Thanks. I will try them if I get there in time.
Yes, it’s a very long drive. I was in Fargo and went this way to avoid Minneapolis and Chicago traffic but I’m not sure it was a good idea. Still have to turn at Flint and go 3 hrs further into Canada.
(Posting from Culvers in Marquette).

You still have a haul to Frankenmuth Flint. US 2 along the north shore of Lake Michigan is a favorite. Lager mill stays open until 8 PM.

Bummer you did not stopped by me.

I was going to stop in Eau Claire and at least get some beer ( I remember your Octoberfest fondly) but I was in Fargo and I had a bad time with the construction in Minneapolis so I went North this time.  Next time though because I really would like to see your operation and get some more of your beer.  I was cleaning out the garage today and there were a few of your growlers out there.

All right gmac. Next year we will meet.

If you stop in Frankenmuth, any luck at the Lager Mill?

I’m afraid I didn’t get to Frankenmuth until after 7 and just assumed that they would be closed by then.  I didn’t think to take the time to swing by another WiFi spot and check their hours on the internet.
Thank you for the suggestion though.  I was really hoping to get some but didn’t.
