Young hop shoots may be trimmed and lightly steamed to be served in an omelet. Tasty? Discuss.
Definitely tasty. I quite like them raw in salads too.
Tasty indeed. When I trimmed mine back this spring, I just ate the shoots raw.
I’ve put them in a stir fry and a risotto too, and they go great with garlic scapes. Mainly I use hop shoots that I forage from wild hops.
gently steamed with a vinagrette, just like good asparagus.
I’ve had them pickled - very nice.
