Hopback Installation

I want to build a hopback and have felt like I recently read an article about installing it in the line between the keg and tap.  Now all the searches that I do talk about installing between the kettle and chiller after the boil.  Am I dreaming about using it for dispensing?  Also, I was planning on using a canning jar and then read about using CPVC pipe.  Give me some feed back on these two different setups, please.

search for randall instead of hop back. a hop back is between the kettle and the fermenter and acts as a very late hopping device/filter. Randall is a way to infuse various flavors into finished beer as it is dispensed.

I think what you are after is a randall rather than a hopback. Both devices have the same objective but are used at different points in the process and work a little differently. From what I have seen of those DIY mason jar and CPVC pipe hopback designs I am not sure they are designed to hold up to the pressure of carbonated beer or the pressure of beer being pushed through it by CO2. There are DIY options for randalls using water filter canisters. Take a look at those.

The Blichmann hop rocket can be used as hop back and randall.

Thanks guys.  I will researsh the randall
