Will that work? I need to put two vertical 4x8 sections of lattice up to block out some crap in the neighbor’s yard…Ordered two cascade plants, wonder if they would like climbing on lattice, the pressure treated kind with approx 2x2" holes…
They’ll grow on anything, but 8’ of lattice is pretty short. They do prefer being able to climb 15-20’ tall but that isn’t absolutely necessary. I grow most of mine on a 14" tall trellis, but a lot of them also grow on my chain link fence and never get taller than 6’.
Maybe he’s stacking the two sections on top of each other. Whatever of the neighbors’ he wants to hide is really tall. 
They’ll grow on it no problem. And it will be a real pain to take them off at the end of the season when they die back.

You can tear the old bines off metal or something stable much easier. Like…metal hog panels.
I have lattice for my Magnum hops and they grow on it but I have to train them to keep them growing up. It’s a PITA, so I am going to switch to a pole and twine setup this year.
I would recommend using the plastic Lattice. Avoid using anything which has been pressure treated that will come in contact with what you will be eating / drinking.
This all doesn’t sound very encouraging… hmmmmm.
I use 2 4x8 lattices set horizontally and my 2 cascades love it. I picked 4 ounces the first year and lots more last year. Yeah, it’s kind of a pain taking the bines off in the fall, but I don’t mind.
If you wait until late winter the old bines will be easier to get off. They become quite brittle by then. I’m assuming that the cones are being picked with the bines in place on the trellis.

Good question. I don’t think so…
No, the latticework won’t but pressure treated post will for a few years as the chemicals leach out. Just don’t plant anything right next to the post, say 8", so the roots aren’t slurping up the chemicals and you will be fine. “Weathered” or raw post are better. The latticework in contact with the bines won’t have any effect.
Ah, good point. Yes in the ground it’s an issue. I plan on three posts with lattice in between… I will put the plants in the middle, 2 feet from the nearest post. Plus they will be in a raised clump as my clay doesn’t drain very well.
