Inside Anheuser-Busch’s Pilot Brewery

Pretty interesting stuff. Including the fact that they dump almost all of every batch.

Interesting article. I’m curious if their goal is to someday release a legit line of AB craft beers, or to just dress up Shock Top with half-a$$ flavors. So far it’s the latter.

EDIT - I know with their empire that the losses down the drain are negligible, but I’m still surprised the batches are that big just to end up with a couple cases.

I was at first as well, but what the guy says about the batch being large enough to scale quickly makes sense.

I enjoyed the tasting panel discussion.

When I visited the STL brewery in 2007 or so, it seemed to me they touted Michelob as their “craft” brew division.

What about landshark?

Funny you mention Landshark. In the tasting room they had a matrix of what beers where produced at what facility for their “specialty” markets. Landshark is made in their Jacksonville, FL brewery.
