Intertap self closing spring for faucet

Any experience with this? Specifically,  does it cause any degree of turbulent flow/foaming?  I had an awful time with this with the Intertap flow control faucet with the extra bits and pieces in the way, but flow is perfect now with my current regular stainless Intertap.  Self closing is an attractive idea (always paranoid that my cat will pour herself a whole keg some night) but not if it interferes with the performance as is.

I installed them in both my Intertap and Perlick faucets and see no difference in the pour from either.

Thanks, Bob.  I threw one on an order of other stuff tonight and I’ll give it a try.  For a couple of bucks why not.

Might piss off your cat though, Rob!  It won’t be able  to have a beer party at night when you are sleeping.  ;D

Ha! Yeah, it’s never happened, but I worry it could.  She goes running around, jumping on bookcases and anything else,  chasing gnats, or shadows, or who knows what, at night.  She could jump up and down off the keezer and brush against the tap handle, I imagine.  Once, when I still had carboys,  one was draining upside down.  She was chasing a wasp (according to my CSI: Basement investigation,)  and the result was a shattered carboy.  The wasp ended up cut in half in the wreckage.  The cat jumped clear and was spared being cut or stung – very lucky.  The good thing is, she’d never mess with the tap at night intentionally.  Pure mischief without an audience holds no attraction.  ;D

…and you might reconsider sleeping with a pissed off cat running around.

Pretty much why I installed them. The wife has a skitzo cat and I think it found some wild catnip. Every couple of days the damn thing comes tearing in the cat door and runs laps around the house. Was always afraid it would open a tap.

The catnip just makes mine very quiet and intensely focused on one thing, like, right now, holding down my slippers.  Can’t take the trash out till the effects wear off.  ;D

What model Perlicks do you have?  I didn’t think they were compatible.

Installed.  Happy.  Thanks.
