Irony of ironies?

Taking a break from studying German brewing texts tonight, I came across this:

Looks like the “It” was hiding in Japan last year…

FWIW, I’m starting to wonder if my idea of “It” (Ripe grain field that hasn’t turned brown yet on a cool damp night) is very different from others.

German lager fans will be sure to denounce me as a heretic for saying this, but last night I noticed “It” in a can of Yeungling.

I do have some Weihenstephaner helles to celebrate the anniversary of Reinheitsgebot.

They probably figured out a way to use a 20 minute single infusion mash. The IT is Miso, as it often is.

Interesting…

I thought you were going to say that you found the perfect “juicy” flavor in a batch of fermented OJ.

Or in a helles.

I like dead clowns

I wonder if they faked it with a clean ale yeast.

Funny stuff. They must’ve used the mythical umami mash.

Was the flavor pillowy or astringent?

Man…that is really weird how you are bad mouthing these guys without knowing anything about them…it seems like they have put in the time and deserve the respect…I’ll stop here…fingers hurt

I honestly mean them no disrespect. The frustration folks here have is for a good reason. “It” has been a particular point of contention because some won’t try and put the flavors or aromas that are “It” into words.

I’m honestly trying to understand what they mean by “It” and if my “It” is their “It.”

But see how silly this sounds? Folks were mentioning “juicy” being a bad descriptor, but “It” is by far the worst. Just say what it tastes like. For that reasons whenever I describe what I think is “It” I include a description of the aroma/flavor.

“IT” ís kind a hard to explain. To me its very clean crisp lingering malt and hop flavor and aroma. I just don’t get that from American craft lagers but if I buy some cans of Pilsner Urquell or Bitburger it really comes through, imported bottles are hit and miss.

At this point, I don’t think anyone gives a sh"IT" anymore.

Who do you think we’re bad-mouthing? We’re making fun of a well known series of incidents on this forum not the mKers of this beer.

Was there multiple miso incidents?

I was making fun of the notion that there is an “it”.

I’m not sure if you know exactly what the others are talking about. No one here is making fun of the Japanese brewery.

Reread and agree…

“IT” is in my keezer in a keg of pilsner brewed with harvested Pilsner Urquell yeast…

oops…another “IT” incident…
