Great job Jeff. Congrats !
Thanks guys. I’m pretty (very) happy right now.
(Not to mention Tom’s first post in months)
Awesome! Congrats man! Welcome back Tom!
Kudos!
I just got on line and found this. Very cool Mr. Gladish. Susan says Congrats also.
Looking at the winners, a couple nights ago we had Taproom IPA, Wookey Jack, and Pivo Pils from Firestone Walker. Those were worthy of the golds received.
So Jeff, was there any water treatment when you brewed? Wayne indicates they do no treatment (at least for chlorine removal) for their brewing. Interestingly, Wayne contacted me a few nights ago and said he enjoyed some beers down in Puerto Rico where he was guest brewing. He said they were made with built-up RO water. Apparently he is thinking about including activated carbon in his system. I wonder if a RO system is in their future too?
No treatment to the water in this brew, other than acidifying the liquor. Wayne had listed 1.5 pounds of CaCl, but the brewer and I decided not to put it in.
Will we be able to taste this in Grand Rapids? Hint, hint.
Edit IIRC, the recipe gets published in Zymurgy, so we can brew it!
Right-on Jeff! Congrats amigo! Poblano is one of my favorite flavors.
The things a guy hasta do to get Tom to post these days, huh?!
:D What can I say, I’ve been kind of stupid busy lately. I’ll try to be better. I’ve missed the forum, but when I saw Jeff had won I just had to come post.
Congrats Jeff!
Way to go Jeff!
