Lactobacillus & Saccharomyces Q.

In a rush I ordered the funktown and not the vermout yeast I wanted…

It’s for this kit as I wanted to loose the banana /clove taste from the last brew and add some fruitiness.

I presume this is a lacto soured beer.

I ended up with a vial of funktown Somy question is do they mix well?

I’m a sour noob so not doing AG sours just dipping my toe in with these kits.  They turn out very well to my surprise.

Yeah a hefeweizen yeast is not really what you want for that style. I don’t think you’ll have any problems with the funktown. Might come out with some atypical yeast flavor but more citrus fruit than banana/clove. That blend doesn’t sour so you’ll have to source lactobacillus elsewhere if it’s not included in that kit.

It comes ‘pre soured’.  You just as the M20 to it.    I presume it’s lacto so my question is do the 2 mix.

Thanks.

I don’t really think the beer will come out sour at all, maybe a little tart from the hefe yeast but not sour. How is the kit pre soured? I’m thinking you’re either going to get a fruity ale beer from the funk town. Orma typical hefe if you use the m20. Again. Not really sour. Just more tart if anything.

I’m presuming it’s lacto?  M20 will not add and tartness or sourness so can on presume it’s done when the LME is produced.

The funktown read to me it would add ‘funk’. I wrongly presumed that to be sour.

Think I need to hit the sour podcasts.
